Inquiring of the Lord Daily

Father, You are the God who speaks—clearly, kindly, and faithfully.
In a world full of voices, let me first listen for Yours.

Like David, teach me to inquire of You
before I make decisions, plans, or promises.
Let no opportunity rush me out of dependence on Your voice.

Direct my steps in the way I should go (Psalm 37:23).
Let Your Word be the lamp I follow (Psalm 119:105).
Let wisdom rise as I ask, seek, and knock (James 1:5, Matthew 7:7).

When I am unsure,
give me peace to wait.
When I am afraid,
give me courage to trust.
When I am confident,
keep me humble to still ask.

Train my heart in the discipline of inquiry.
Let me become a person who doesn’t just pray in crisis,
but walks in continual counsel with You.

Today, I choose to inquire of You first—
and trust that You are faithful to answer.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
